TIPS FROM THE INDUSTRY: GIG ETIQUETTE

For up-and-coming artists, there's a whole bunch of stuff to figure out when it comes to the unwritten rules and hidden vibes in the live music scene. Here are a few important etiquette tips to remember for your next gig.

ONE

Be friendly and approachable. (this is your bands/artists reputation - people remember how you make them feel).

TWO

Stay for the whole night and support the other bands. Don’t leave right after your set.

THREE

Be on time (or even early) to the venue. Be sure to introduce yourself to the venue staff and sound guy, first and foremost.

FOUR

Mind your allocated time for soundcheck, be prompt and professional (soundcheck is NOT a rehearsal, be prepared).

FIVE

Treat everyone with involved with respect: The venue, the booker, other bands and gig-goers.

SIX

Don’t get intoxicated before your set, during your set, before load out your gear, or before you get paid.
