At Lift the Sky each artist comes from a unique background, geographical location, and specific worldview with a curated visual message to share with the world. As the possibilities in the visual space are endless, you’ll find paintings, photographs, woven pieces, and so much more. The opportunity to integrate their messages for the globe into your being is significant, and the impact for greater insight into the experiences of individuals in each corner of the world is priceless. Lift the Sky: A Global Art Exhibit also had their stunning art exhibit at Front Porch Gallery right here in Carlsbad, CA.
Some artwork will have written words, to literally get the message to you, others will be through symbolism. The surrounding colors and depth on the senses is a meaningful drama for each of us to become more aware of, how the lives of niche communities everywhere live and breathe through this artist’s work. Lines obscure, and creations abound, as you get a glimpse at what it means to be someone other than you. Artists carry the load of conveying their communities’ essence from their point of view, and this exhibit is the opportunity to cross boundaries and explore with your eyes places that you might not otherwise.
Lift the Sky, by nature, has the advantage of that of a traveling show, they can pop up and be anywhere, as every work of art has traveled countless miles anyway. Invite Lift the Sky to a gallery you know of or view it through the end of January until the next exhibit is showcased at The Unity Center Art Gallery. Furthermore, The Unity Center has taken art submissions in the past, so be a part of another art community making a significant, global change right here in San Diego.
With symbolism in the art, the entire exhibit is symbolic as well. At Lift the Sky, each piece is “sewn into hanging panels” where each work of art is then sewn together, yet individual in their floating allure. Every art piece is an answer to “What [is] your message to the world?” As Weaverling says, “Lift the Sky offers messages to the world from artists to create a more hopeful outlook for the future.” As we open our eyes to the individual experiences across the globe, we then naturally become a part of the catalyst for a more hopeful, redefined future. I can’t help but feel moved by every artist’s visual and personal message to the world being brought right here for us to recognize, understand, and be more in alignment with hope.
The Unity Center is a dynamic, impactful community now host to wondrous exhibits like this one year long. Each one is exuding change, relevance, and a brighter more intentionally aware future. This is but another avenue, another medium for the Unity Center to continue the impact they have on our Global community right here at home. The Unity Center also has the Partners Fair Trade Boutique where each piece was individually handcrafted by local artisans worldwide. The boutique is intentionally accessible and affordable, and you become a part of a greater, safer, and more respectable economy for supporting these soul-made pieces. Personally, I get the stones with messages on them as a reminder to keep strong and going. Additionally, I have a scrunchie through fair trade and other pieces from the artists I appreciate in Peru. There are artisans from anywhere in the globe and you can feel their sweet intention in every item.
Come support this eclectic, stunning exhibit in a truly inclusive, radiant gallery and any other initiatives through The Unity Center that resonate with you. The Unity Center is a force of nature, and you’ll inevitably feel your joyful, sublime essence in their presence.
