TELL ME ABOUT YOUR NEWEST EP, TITLED "EMERGENCY EXIT," WHICH CAME OUT ON OCTOBER 3RD, 2023. WHAT WAS THE RECORDING PROCESS LIKE? WAS IT DONE IN A MORE DIY MANNER, OR DID YOU GO TO A STUDIO TO RECORD?

Josh: "This EP has been in the works for a while. Originally, we were recording at home, but that didn't really work out, so we went into a studio for it, and it was so great."

Brandon: "Yeah, we went to the Pale Moon Ranch in Juniper Hills to record with Alex Estrada, and it's like this remote studio in the hills with a crazy good view. It was dopeness."

WHAT IS THE OVERALL MESSAGE OR FEELING YOU ARE TRYING TO GET ACROSS WITH THIS NEW EP?

Josh: "The full EP kinda ranges from a variety of topics. It goes from dealing with social anxiety and not knowing what to say in social situations to battling with depression to feeling codependent on everyone else in your life. It hits a lot of beats in the six-song runtime."

WHAT LINE IN THIS NEW EP HOLDS THE MOST MEANING TO YOU?

Brandon: "'Day one is always the hardest to pass, but I know you'll figure it out. You always figure it out.'"

Josh: "'One day, I'll be fine. You won't have to deal with things of my design like you have been."

Tyler: "'Fuck.'"

WOULD YOU SAY THERE IS AN OVERALL THEME/MESSAGE WITH THE SONGS THAT YOUR BAND RELEASES? IF NOT A THEME OR MESSAGE, MAYBE A FEELING?

Josh: "I don't know, I kinda just write about things that I am feeling at the time. The goal is that people resonate with the topics and can find some sort of catharsis from that, so I'd say the feeling is catharsis? But also like we want people to have fun at the same time."

WHAT WOULD BE YOUR DREAM BAND TO TOUR WITH? OR, WHO DO YOU GUYS LOOK UP TO IN THE MUSIC WORLD FOR INSPIRATION?

Tyler: "I wanna say Origami Angel as a dream band to tour with, and I'm very inspired by Tosin Abasi."

Josh: "If we could tour with Free Throw, I think I'd explode. I personally am inspired by Kris Ward from Sports. , Joe Reinhart from Algernon Cadwallader, and Parker Lawson from Two Knights."

Brandon: "I would wanna tour with Prince Daddy and the Hyena, Delta Sleep, or Macseal; it'd be super dope. I'm very inspired by Jake Ewald from Slaughter Beach, Dog, and the drummer from The Chariot."

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG TO PLAY LIVE?

Josh and Brandon: "Yard Work."

Tyler: "Hospital Cafe."

WHAT IS THE CRAZIEST/MOST OUT-OF-POCKET SHOW EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE HAD SINCE STARTING AREN'T WE AMPHIBIANS?

Brandon: "We played a show in Las Vegas in September, and there was someone in the crowd between sets reading like a kid's book of mini-stories out loud. The rest of the crowd was super into it and like reacting to what was going on in the book. It was awesome."
