Pecos and the Rooftops - The Next Generation of Texas Country

Some of the best things in life happen on accident and the band Pecos and the Rooftops are no exception to this truth. Early 2019 four men who met at college in Lubbock Texas where all sitting around playing on their instruments when some cords where struck that changed their lives forever. In that moment they created the song “This Damn Song” which was released in April that year. Only 2 months later and that song they created surpassed 90,000 streams on Spotify and started to go viral on Tik Tok. Pecos Hurley (Vocals/Acoustic Guitar), Brandon Jones (Rhythm Guitar), Zack Foster (Lead Guitar), Kalen Davis (Bass), and Kade Trentham (Drums) are four young men from Texas who all have the same drive and passion to keep the Texas country music scene alive at its roots. Since the release of “This Damn Song” in 2019, the band has put out one EP and three singles all showing us how much of a rollercoaster love can be. As of right now the band is set to be dropping their long awaited first ever album this month on the 27th called “Cabin Fever”.

I had the pleasure of attending their concert here in San Diego at the famous Moonshine Beach which has hosted legendary country artist such as Cody Johnson, Aaron Watson, Morgan Wallen and more. San Diego fans where electrified by the band as they played through their set list of the night that included some of the songs that will be featured on their new album. Hearing some of these new songs, I can confidently say they are going to continue their climb to the top of the country music charts. If you love a raw honest voice and incredible instrumentals, I highly recommend you check them out. Currently on tour with Dylan Wheeler they will be traveling all over the United States until July 27th, 2023. This is the next generation of Texas country music and it is exciting to see where it goes!
