Meet Colin Rich, a Los Angeles-based Singer, Songwriter, and Musician. We had the pleasure of getting to interview Colin and learn more about his creative process, what he has in store for the future, and some tips and tricks he has for other up-and-coming singers and songwriters!
What inspired you to start your musical journey? Was there a band or artist that pushed you to pursue those goals?
My musical journey began with a deep love and appreciation for music as a means of self-expression and connection. While many bands and artists influenced me, the raw emotion and storytelling of influential artists in my life inspired me to pursue my own musical goals. Growing up, I was fortunate to have a supportive environment that nurtured my passion for music, with access to instruments and encouragement to explore my creativity. This foundation and my innate desire to tell stories through music sparked a lifelong dedication to pursuing my musical dreams.
How would you describe the kind of sound you're going for?
My sound could be described as a fusion of R&B, Hip Hop, and Pop. I am drawn to the soulful melodies and emotive storytelling of R&B, the energy and rhythmic elements of Hip Hop, and the catchy hooks and melodies of Pop music. By combining these genres, I aim to create a versatile sound that appeals to a diverse audience. This allows me to explore different musical landscapes and create a unique sonic signature that reflects my own artistic vision and influences.
How do you feel your upcoming music video captures your sound and how you want to be seen as an artist?
This project captures my sound and showcases how I want to be perceived as an artist. It provides a platform for me to express my musical style and artistic vision in a visually captivating way. This project goes beyond just representing my sound; it allows me to push the boundaries of my creativity and explore new musical territories, appealing to a broader audience. By venturing into uncharted territories, I can evolve as an artist and present a side of me that is both authentic and exciting.

Coming to Long Beach has been an incredible experience for me. The city offers a vibrant and diverse atmosphere that is truly unmatched. The coastal lifestyle adds a sense of relaxation and inspiration to my daily life. Moreover, Long Beach's music scene is rich and diverse, allowing me to tap into a wide range of musical styles and influences. By exploring the city's character and social dynamic, I have connected with fellow musicians and creatives, further fueling my passion for music. Long Beach has become a second home to me, and I am grateful for the unique experiences and opportunities it has provided.
Being around so much competition, how do you stand out from the rest of the noise in the Long Beach scene?
