New Release from This Side of Wednesday: “Do You Remember” Out Now!

The half-Filipino, Hawaii-born, and San Diego-bred musician, This Side of Wednesday, has just dropped a new single called "Do You Remember" which is out now on all platforms! This Side of Wednesday is a local artist that blends indie folk, and lo-fi ambient music with aspects of chill hip-hop and somber heavy piano parts. This newest release is reminiscent of piano ballads from the late 80s and 90s, with a hauntingly beautiful overall aurora.

This Side of Wednesday's newest song, "Do You Remember," is a song centered around the concept of reflection and the passage of time. Not only does it lyrically stick to this theme, but the overall sound and structure of this piece remind me of the feeling of driving by my childhood home in the late evenings, saying goodbye to familiar environments, and thinking back on lost relationships. With hushed, eerily soothing vocals, this song tells the tale that we have all once or are currently experiencing, which is looking back on what was once let go of. This song is the epitome of an ethereal haven.

This Side of Wednesday is not afraid to experiment with a broad array of musical influences, spanning many different genres and times in music history, which helps make the songs she creates timeless. Picking and choosing different aspects of different genres leads to a new take on overdone styles of music, which really helps make the song stand out amongst others.

This Side of Wednesday shares that, "Do You Remember is a very personal song written on piano by me. It's an intimate, confessional song about reminiscence, hope, and possibilities.

With help and collaboration with artist Twelve Days in June, his accompanying background vocals add an extra layer of desperation juxtapositioned with lightness. Produced by Post Masquerade, it is clear that the production of this song was done with thought and personal care.

This Side of Wednesday is slated to have several EP releases in 2024, giving us a deeper look into the human soul through her creative songwriting and composition.
