The journey behind Beige Radio’s music is as raw and genuine as the sound itself. The recording process for the album has been a collaborative effort with Tate Keller, also known as Mourning Modern, whose album Dallas Lights, Austin Nights caught Beige Radio's attention for its garage-inspired vibe. The two met at an open mic and quickly connected over their shared appreciation for DIY production.
“Tate and I connected musically in a way I haven’t experienced in a long time,” Beige Radio shares. “Even though our styles are different, his approach to recording resonated with me. We’ve developed a great friendship through this process, and I’m excited to finish the record with him.”
This new single explores themes of self-awareness and the need to prioritize individual well-being over exterior expectations. Beige Radio reveals that the song is inspired by their own experience of leaving a job that caused significant stress and exacerbated chronic health issues.
“At that job, I would Irish goodbye at staff outings, and one coworker told me they didn’t like that,” Beige Radio explains. “Later, I kind of Irish goodbye’d the entire staff when I left, only saying goodbye to one person. The song is about learning to listen to yourself and recognizing when it’s time to walk away from something that’s not right for you.”
The striking artwork for King of the Irish Goodbye was created by Liz Costello, known as @sister_fortune on Instagram, and perfectly encapsulates the reflective yet rebellious nature of the song.
Fans will have the chance to catch Beige Radio live on November 30th at The Template in Ocean Beach, where they’ll be opening for Cope. The show promises to be a highlight in San Diego's music scene this fall.
With his DIY ethos, candid storytelling, and collaborative spirit, Beige Radio is crafting music that’s not only a joy to hear but also deeply relatable. Don't miss out on the next chapter of his story.
